Valentino will run for re-election

Yesterday, Escambia County Commissioner Gene Valentino filed to run again for his District 2 seat. The incumbent already has two opponents, Robert Kelley and Andy Kowalski, in the 2010 Republican primary.

Former County Administrator George Touart is expected to file to also run as a Republican and should file within the next week. The IN cover story tomorrow is an exclusive interview Touart on why he’s getting back into county politics.

Outzen, how come you did not ask George why he was about to be booted out of his County Administrator job in Mississippi.

He was in hot water over there too about something and was about to be fired when W.D. “made the call” and gave George the Escambia Admin job.

George wants another Florida government job bad in order to get the state pension and needs a few more months to qualify.

If he can’t get hired, he will try getting elected.

And name recognition will get him elected.
