Aero Sekur, specialist in helicopter lift-raft and flotation systems, announces a relocation and expansion of its US subsidiary from Parsippany, New Jersey to larger premises in Pensacola, Florida. The announcement will be publicized during the 2015 Heli-Expo in Orlando, Florida, March 2 to 5.
The move provides the aviation safety and protection systems designer with a larger facility and closer geographic links to many of the US helicopter operators in the Gulf of Mexico. At 8,000 sq. ft., the companyâs new American administration offices, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) and spare parts buildings are three times the size of its previous premises.
Escambia County and Pensacola officials express a welcoming atmosphere for the company.
“Iâm looking forward to Aero Sekur joining our community,â said Commissioner Lumon May, whose district will serve as home to the companyâs US subsidiary. âBusinesses like Aero Sekur that create great jobs and make new investments have choices about where they locate. We’re pleased that they have chosen Escambia County.”
John Hutchinson, president of the Community Economic Development Association (CEDA) said Aero Sekurâsdecision is another indication that the aerospace industry has its eyes on Northwest Florida. âThis industry has huge growth potential and we are winning important projects that will demonstrate to other companies that they can be successful in our region. We must continue to make economic development a priority.â
Likewise, Mayor Ashton Hayward relayed, “For more than 100 years, aviation has been part of the very fabric of our community, and weâre leveraging that experience to compete for the aviation-sector jobs of today and tomorrow. Aero Sekur is a leader in aviation safety and protection systems, and a great addition to Northwest Floridaâs growing aerospace and aviation cluster. Weâre excited to welcome them and to partner with them as they look to grow their business and enhance their distribution network.â
There were many locations that the company could have chosen to relocate, especially with contracts in Fort Walton and Eglin Air Force Base, said Ursella Slusher, Vice President of Aero Sekur.
âWithin two weeks of getting connected to the Community Economic Development Association, I knew this is where we wanted to move,â said Slusher. âI wish every city could have a team of that nature that can support incoming businesses. Service like that makes the big wheel turn. They were professional, personal, friendly, warm and inviting. I cannot praise the Pensacola team enough.â
