Arby’s buying Wendy’s

April 24, 2008

From AP Wire:

Triarc Cos. Inc., operator of Arby’s roast beef restaurants, is buying Wendy’s International Inc. in a stock deal pegged at $2.34 billion. Combination will have approximately 10,000 stores and annual sales of $12.5 billion, creating the third largest quick service restaurant company in the U.S.

Now will somebody please take out the Burger King?

j5driver – I think you are speaking of Buger King and this deal involves Wendy’s and Arby’s. You get a D in fast food facts.

Those whopper dude commercials scare me!!!
Every time I see one all I can think of is Jim Jones, Son-of-Sam, etc. It just seems like he is a few fries short…..
Give me an old lady screaming “where’s the beef” way before some plastic face just staring and a voice over of “don’t mess with the king….”.
scary, (plus he looks like our mayor if the mayor ran around in tights and a funky cape…. er….)

I was driving through an Arby’s in Gulf Shores on Saturday and I thought this operation wouldn’t last long; I guess I was wrong.

So what is it now, Wenby’s?

Take out the Burger King? I wish we’d get one close to downtown. Way better than most of the fast food garbage.
