So come sip some wine, hear great music and view awesome artwork while helping our homeless veterans and their families. This event is sponsored by the Bodacious Olive with all proceeds benefitting the Home for the Holidays program that provides emergency shelter for homeless veterans while offering the life skills training needed for them to transition to self-sufficiency. The Monument to Women Veterans, Waterfront Mission, and POE In Action invite you to begin the New Year in support of the struggling men and women who have served our country by joining them on January 4th at OPEN BOOKS for an evening of Wine Tasting, Music & Art!

The Home for the Holidays program for homeless veteran families has placed four people in permanent housing thus far. We currently have openings for two veteran families who are seeking housing and assistance with life skills trainings. Those who are interested should call 850-341-1399 as soon as possible as this program is ending in January.
This is the second year we are hosting this 30 day program of relief and services for local homeless veterans and their families in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. The success of this program last year has prompted more organizations to join in our support to again take some of our veteran families out of homelessness and provide emergency housing for thirty days along with intensive case management and supportive services that help them to achieve their own permanent residences within a very short period of time.
The Home for the Holidays was begun as a pilot program in 2012 and proved so successful that our community wants us to once again take homeless veteran families off the street and provide the intensive case management, resources and referrals that resulted in an unprecedented success ratio with 90 % of those we served moving into their own home within just 30 days!

This is an entirely volunteer led program and al funding is from generous donors in our local community. We would really appreciate your help now to make this another successful year for the Home for the Holidays program serving veteran families in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.
