Buzz: Gibbs didn’t get horse job

January 25, 2012

We’re hearing that Forrest Gibbs, the Commission Wilson Robertson supporter that is suing the three commissioners over his losing a job at the county’s equestrian center, will not get be hired back by the county. Only in Escambia County get a job under less than straight-forward circumstances, lose it, sue those who objected to the hiring and then reapply for the same job.

Cool, now let him sue and lets put him, Larry Newsome and Wilson R on the stand under oath, along with anyone else involved in the first hiring fiasco, and get to the real truth……
If the BOCC votes to settle, there need to be some recall campaigns started (and finished).

Certainly there was more than one candidate who could do the job well.
Having Gibbs a finalist and not offering him the job appears worse on the decision makers than if he hadn’t made the cut in the first place. Stated another way, I think his case is stronger because he was a finalist and didn’t get the job. If the decision was that close, why not give it to the guy who got it the first time.

If Gibbs does not get the job, how then does the county justify the fact that he gaot the job the first time around. Especially if the one they hire this time applied the first time also.
