The robot nicknamed WALL-E, which is being credited with aiding in the peaceful end of an eight-hour standoff Thursday morning in Cantonment, has quit SWAT and asked to be transferred to court security. The newest member of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was purchased with a grant from the Department of Homeland Security. However, he has complained about being overworked and not having enough time with his wife, a jukebox at the Waffle House on Hwy 29.
WALL-E will be working at M.C. Blanchard Building starting Monday, April 4.
