City of Pensacola launches speakers bureau

April 13, 2017

This week, the City of Pensacola announced on its “Transparent Pensacola” page the creation of a speakers bureau to provide public speakers for local clubs, schools, civic groups, neighborhood associations and community organizations. The city isn’t charging for the presentation.

Groups need to only identify the topic from the menu provided and send in the request form at least two weeks in advance.

The topics available include nearly every city department, except the mayor’s office:

Code Enforcement
Police Department
Economic Development
Public Works & Facilities
Fire Department
Parks & Recreation
Sanitation Services
Port of Pensacola
Human Resources
Pensacola International Airport
Planning Services
Pensacola Energy
Housing
Inspection Services
Finance
City Attorney
City Administrator

For more information, call Vernon Stewart at 435-1623 or email vstewart@cityofpensacola.com. You can also visit Transparent Pensacola.

I would like to request the Mayor to come speak on all of the listed topics for an audience of reporters and citizens to be followed by an open Q&A anytime in the next 2 weeks at any community center. I’ll be over here holding my breath.
