On Saturday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m., Congressman Matt Gaetz will be hosting the 2017 Congressional App Challenge and STEM/ Cybersecurity Expo at the University of West Florida’s Pensacola campus.
The Congressional App Challenge is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code. Students in participating districts code original applications for the chance to be selected for recognition by their Member of Congress, win prizes, and have their work put on display in the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
“With more and more sectors of America’s economy going digital, STEM, cybersecurity, and computer science backgrounds are in high demand by employers nationwide.
