How Gene Valentino treats his fellow commissioners (Video-updated)

June 22, 2013

This is a very rough edit of the June 20 BCC Agenda Workshop and the clips how the chairman, Gene Valentino, belittled and bullied Commissioners May, Barry and Robinson. He talks over Lumon May and then rudely attacks him. He’s upset that they met with the sheriff’s office, even though he had only spent 30 minutes with them and has refused to tour the jail. Steven Barry’s sigh at Valentino’s grandstanding says it all.

It was Valentino who went to the media and attacked the detention deputies. Now he claims that was a strategy and accuses the other commissioners of having hidden agendas.

Valentino needs to get rid of his comb-over.
It is insulating the top of his head too much.
    Causing him to be hot-headed.
Cooler minds shall prevail you know.

I sincerely hope that no social studies teacher will use this video record as a means to encourage civic involvement in their students. “Teachable moments” such as this BCC meeting will cause kids to view democracy in action as a joke. How unfortunate. I do hold out a lot of hope for Mr. May, Mr. Barry and Mr. Robinson to rescue what appears to be a hi-jacked process.

    ….and Commissioner Robinson. Thx MARY.

Titans: Gotta add Robinson to that list receiving thanks too. It seems to me that May, Barry and Robinson are the only ones sitting on that dais (excluding the atty and reps from the Clerks office)that have a brain in their heads and know how to use it. The other three don’t share one brain amongst themselves. Hopefully smarter and stronger brains will prevail.
