CJ thanks for the clarification, Hill’s listed residence is Pensacola Beach. I trust Rick will use that in the future and stay above the pettiness of the typical “name calling Pensacola politics.”

And isn’t it cute that the high income prescincts have their own legislator?

“Someone should ask Chris Jones if the Hill family can both live in a condo in the sky on the beach at the Portofino Island Resort “and” claim a homestead exemption on their Marcus Pointe vacation home north of District 2 in Clay Ingram’s District 1.”

    Yes they can.
    Just ask Mike Whitehead.
At least until some citizen reports the double homestead exemption out to Chris Jones.

On Hill’s government website, the “City of Residence” given for Walter Bryan “Mike” Hill is listed as “Pensacola Beach.” “R-Portofino” seems about right.

I wonder what address Hill will use for his 2014 tax return, his vehicle registrations, registering with the Department of Financial Services, etc. The mailing address for Hill’s business property still shows him living at Marcus Pointe. I guess he thinks that residency is a state of mind – $$$$.

A conservative group called Media Trackers reports on a lot of Democrats in the Florida Legislature who are also playing the false residency game. No reporting yet on Hill. Don’t expect any since this group only “outs” Democratic offenders.

Here’s the link to the group’s Facebook site focused on Florida: https://www.facebook.com/MediaTrackersFlorida

The Florida Legislature can solve this problem by adopting a rule that its members must be bona fide residents of the districts they are elected to represent at the time they qualify as candidates.

Such a rule would equally offend the one Republican legislator playing this game (Hill) and his like-minded Democratic carpetbaggers.

The Escambia County Property Appraiser has a good writeup on its webpage about “Homestead Fraud.” Someone should ask Chris Jones if the Hill family can both live in a condo in the sky on the beach at the Portofino Island Resort “and” claim a homestead exemption on their Marcus Pointe vacation home north of District 2 in Clay Ingram’s District 1.

OK, where does Hill legally live, in the back of his business, or on the golf course, or on the beach. We know for sure that uncle Mike does not live in the Hood..

Come on Rick “-Portofino” really?? That’s beneath the quality reporting I usually find on this very good blog.
