The Democratic Women’s Club of Escambia County will be hosting a family-friendly event called Mom’s Matter to educate parents and guardians of young children on the available agencies and services that are available to them.
“The underlined message is that if you want these services to keep being provided, you need to vote up and down the voting card for candidates who support these services,” said Evalyn Narramore, president of the Democratic Women’s Club of Escambia County.
There will be activities for the kids such as arts and crafts, games, clowns, face painting as well as food. Parents can get information on local agencies and also register to vote without pressure.
“We won’t be pushing any political agency,” Narramore said.
The Mom’s Matter event is welcome to all (fathers too) and will be at the H.K. Matthews Park located at 3100 N. 12th Ave from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 5. For more information, call 316-1198.
