Oral Roberts University Scandal on IYHR

November 28, 2007

Today on IN Your Head Radio, I will interview reporters from the Oklahoma Gazette on the scandals that have rocked Oral Roberts University.

Last Friday, ORU president and televangelist Richard Roberts resigned as president. In his resignation letter, Roberts wrote that his decision was “effective immediately and came as the school fought a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by three professors who accused him and his wife of misconduct.”

In the lawsuit, Richard Roberts is accused of illegal involvement in a local political campaign and lavish spending at donors’ expense, including numerous home remodeling projects, use of the university jet for his daughter’s senior trip to the Bahamas and a red Mercedes convertible and a Lexus SUV for his wife, Lindsay.

Lindsay Roberts is accused of dropping tens of thousands of dollars on clothes, awarding nonacademic scholarships to friends of her children and sending scores of text messages on university-issued cell phones to people described in the lawsuit as “underage males.”

This should be a good interview. IN Your Head Radio airs from 1-2 p.m. on NewsRadio 1620. You can listen online at www.newsradio1620.com

It’s a shame that these religious “hustlers” are allowed to use sent funds for their own benefit. The same “hustlers” mix their peer power pressure to show us how to vote. Separation of church and State must be enforced-but the “slimeballs” apply their influence incorrectly. Didn’t Jesus get mad one Sabbath Day and whip their asses out of the temple. This must be done here—get them off the TV.

gb, ‘taint only the evangelists. The “high priced spread” with the large denominations have dumped everything in favor of one theme: anti-abortion … the flock can fend for themselves. It will be a LONG time before our churches (especially the big ones) get back the concern they once had for the masses. I hate seeing greed in houses of God, but most fail to remember the one example provided in the bible when Jesus got royally ticked off as a place of worship and was treated as a place to sell goods. It wasn’t a pretty sight.

It is sad when these big named evangelists do these things with money that people have given to them . I do not rembember reading that Jesus every owned a house or a car, he did not wear fancy suits or ride in a lear jet.Jesus wanted us to help the poor , fed the hungry, and help the sick.I always try to find a church that will do these things. There are a lot of good churches here in this town that do help the sick , needy ,and poor. The big time TV preachers for the most part are con artists who give Christainity a bad name.My advice to most are to find a little church that practices the gift of giving, to the poor ,sick and needy.

The praying hands have been busy, now Hobby Lobby is coming to their aid. But only if the Roberts and their cronies stay away from the school. It has been interesting watching everything unfold down in Preachertown (South Tulsa – home of ORU)

If the 900-foot Jesus comes back to ORU’s campus, I don’t think He’s going to be happy at all…

Damnable lies by the lefties and anti-Christian crowd. Merry Christmas with EXTRA JESUS!
