Oral Roberts University Scandal on IYHR

Today on IN Your Head Radio, I will interview reporters from the Oklahoma Gazette on the scandals that have rocked Oral Roberts University.

Last Friday, ORU president and televangelist Richard Roberts resigned as president. In his resignation letter, Roberts wrote that his decision was “effective immediately and came as the school fought a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by three professors who accused him and his wife of misconduct.”

In the lawsuit, Richard Roberts is accused of illegal involvement in a local political campaign and lavish spending at donors’ expense, including numerous home remodeling projects, use of the university jet for his daughter’s senior trip to the Bahamas and a red Mercedes convertible and a Lexus SUV for his wife, Lindsay.

Lindsay Roberts is accused of dropping tens of thousands of dollars on clothes, awarding nonacademic scholarships to friends of her children and sending scores of text messages on university-issued cell phones to people described in the lawsuit as “underage males.”

This should be a good interview. IN Your Head Radio airs from 1-2 p.m. on NewsRadio 1620. You can listen online at www.newsradio1620.com
