Pearl Harbor Honor Flight Initiative – “One Last Goodbye”

Press Release: The Pearl Harbor Honor Flight to Hawaii is for six remaining Pensacola area active Pearl Harbor Survivors to participate and be celebrated in the 70th anniversary of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on this December 7, 2011.

Pensacola, FL, September 16, 2011 – Pearl Harbor Veterans will be accompanied by guardians, caregivers and medical personnel, a documentary crew and the organizers on a trip to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Co-organizers, Holly Shelton and Lt Col William (Bill) Phillips, USAF (ret) are working with national and regional communities and True to the Red White and Blue 501(c)(3) Organization to collect donations to facilitate a trip to honor these Greatest Generation’s Survivors.

This experience will be an opportunity for our heroes to say “One Last Goodbye” to fallen comrades and reconcile haunting memories of that fateful day and the lasting effects on their lives. Several have never returned or been able to talk about their feelings. These Veterans will get much needed closure for the grief some have carried in silence for over sixty-nine years.

For transportation, housing, food and accompanying expenses, donations may be made securely online through Paypal from the Donations page of the website: http://www.PearlHarborHonorFlight.com and also mailed or in person at Regions Bank c/o Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Chapter 138, Jay Carraway, President Emeritus. Send to 3377 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32536 or at any Regions branch. All gifts and donations are tax deductible through the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Chapter 138, 501(c)(3) organization.

This Pearl Harbor Honor Flight will allow personal closure for Pensacola Pearl Harbor Survivors. The Veterans experiences will be shared through a documentary of the trip.
