Shreveport reported to be finalist for NBA Pelican team

July 13, 2017

KSLA TV reports that Shreveport is a finalist to host the New Orleans Pelicans’ affiliate in the NBA’s new developmental league that will be begin play in the fall of 2018.

The station reported Mobile, Ala. has dropped out the running, and Baton Rouge is interested but only if the Pelicans’ management is more flexible in its requirements.

Not surprising, the Pensacola mayor’s office did not respond to the television station. Mayor Hayward has gone dark since the BCC requested more information about his proposal to the NBA team.
