Voter registration system broken

February 15, 2012

The American democracy’s greatest achievement―fair elections―is at risk because of outdated and inefficient voter registration systems, according to a report by the Pew Center on the States. The study calculates that 24 million voters―about one in eight―have invalid or inaccurate registrations. The study estimates that 2 million of the nation’s registered voters are deceased, 2.75 voters are registered in more than one state, and 12 million registrations have incorrect residential addresses. Everyone knows how un-secure our registration AND voting system is. That’s not news to anyone paying attention.

Also not new is that any attempt to purge ineligible and otherwise dead people and cartoon characters from the voter registration rolls OR to take any measures to insure integrity in the voting process is met with calls of racism and voter disenfranchisement from Democratics. Makes one wonder what they have against a more secure voting process.
