Wilson Robertson/Forrest Gibbs hiring – Top Scandal of 2011

The blog readers have spoken – with 863 votes cast. The top local scandal of 2011 was Escambia County Commissioner Wilson Robertson helping his supporter Forrest Gibbs get a job with the county and then lobbying for Gibbs to get a pay increase. The other commissioners stepped in and voided the hire—and now Gibbs is suing them.

Here are the top five scandals:

1. Wilson Robertson helps to hire supporter – 29%
2. Sam Hall vs. Nathan Monk – 24%
3. tie Tourism Chief resigns over TDC meetings/email; Tony Henderson resigns from Public Defender office – 12% each
5. Feds raid the home and business of Santa Rosa Commissioner Bob Cole – 10%
