The inaugural Runway Run 5k at Pensacola International Airport is Saturday, on Dec. 7. The City promises runners and walkers will get a view of the airport they have never seen before. The course will consist of 2 separate loops up and down runway 17/35 and taxiway A as runners make their way around 3.1 miles of airport ground.
Greg Donovan, Airport Director, says, “We are thrilled to put on this event and to help support the USO. We plan to make this a yearly event at the airport and hope to see it grow into a staple 5k in the area.”
“This will be a family friendly event benefiting the USO,” Heidi Blair, Director of USO Northwest Florida says, “The USO and the Pensacola International Airport have consistently looked for ways to support our nations heroes. What a fun way to show our troops that we are there for them every step of the way!”
