What’s the future of transportation for Northwest Florida? Would we like to walk and bicycle more and drive less? Can we look forward to more buses and even trains for travel?
350 Pensacola hosts this presentation on long-range transportation planning for the Florida Panhandle. Learn more about how the local Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) creates options for getting around today and into the coming years. The presentation will cover transportation modes that can either increase or decrease emissions of greenhouse gases. A survey of citizen preferences for transportation will also be discussed.
Gary Kramer has worked in transportation planning for more than 20 years. Hailing from Wisconsin, Gary has been with the West Florida Regional Planning Council since 1995. He currently serves as senior transportation planner, managing the Long Range Transportation Plans, Project Priorities and Transportation Improvement Programs for three transportation planning organizations in the Florida Panhandle.
Brandi Whitehurst joined West Florida Regional Planning Council as a public involvement coordinator after 25 years in marketing in the Pensacola area. She oversees public relations throughout the seven-county area. She engages citizens in the transportation process, coordinating outreach activities for the council, from public workshops and opinion surveys to bicycle/pedestrian safety events.
