350 Pensacola hosts “Preparing Our Communities for Climate Change,” a presentation by Mayor Patsy Parker of Perdido Beach, Alabama. In November 2013, Parker was selected as a member of President Obama’s Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience to advise the Administration on how the federal government can help communities prepare for the impacts of climate change.

As the City of Pensacola considers creating a climate change task force, Mayor Parker offers lessons from her experience as an elected official and her membership on the President’s task force. Parker will talk about the task force and her own community’s work to mitigate and adapt to a changing climate.

The presentation is the August offering in a series addressing climate change and our environment presented throughout the year by 350 Pensacola. The presentation is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 850-572-7230 or email 350pensacola@gmail.com.
