The Studer Institute is sponsoring a strategic planning workshop designed to help small businesses and nonprofits.

Partnering with the Studer Institute to sponsor the workshop is Pensacola Young Professionals, Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Coast African American Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Escambia County.

Scheduled for Friday, November 14, the “Strategic Planning Model for Small Businesses and Nonprofits” workshop will focus on:

Building strategic planning skills
Developing plans that can be implemented
Moving results forward
Helping an organization reach its desired outcomes

“I have found in my work that small businesses and many nonprofit organizations often struggle with strategic planning,” says Quint Studer, founder of the Studer Institute. “This can range from lacking a strategic plan entirely, to having one that is too cumbersome to execute.”

Strategic Planning Consultant, Lynne Cunningham, will lead the workshop.  Cunningham has conducted strategic planning assignments for hospitals, medical groups, organ procurement organizations and blood banks across the country. She has also worked with community organizations nationally and internationally.

“The Studer Institute’s goal is to promote citizen-powered change and to improve the quality of life in Pensacola,” says Studer Institute Director, Rick Harper. “We are pleased to bring in Lynne, a national expert in strategic planning, to help develop our local, small businesses and nonprofit organizations.“

Cunningham has also donated her services, offering a strategic plan for Manna Food Bank. During the workshop, Manna Food Bank will be used as a case study and workshop attendants, along with Cunningham, will develop a strategic plan, demonstrating a real-life example and the process that goes with developing a strategic plan.

“A Strategic Planning Model for Small Businesses and Nonprofits” will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop is complementary for all attendees. Studer Institute asks to please bring a non-perishable food item for Manna Food Bank.
