$7.5 Million verdict for retired Pensacola firefighter and wife [podcast]

Levin Papantonio Rafferty (LPR) Attorneys Cameron Stephenson and Justin Lusko secured a $7.5 million medical malpractice verdict for a retired Pensacola firefighter and his wife. After a nearly two-week local trial, the jury returned the verdict in the late afternoon on Wednesday, May 18. The issue in the case involved the delay in diagnosis and treatment of necrotizing fasciitis, caused by the bacteria vibrio vulnificus, which resulted in leg amputation above the knee.

“This verdict, this result, is all about my clients,” Stephenson said. “What happened to them should have never happened. Justice was done, and I have never been prouder in my professional career.”

He added, “We had good facts and wonderful clients, and the jury just saw the truth. These clients will forever have a place in my heart,” Stephenson added.

Before joining LPR, Stephenson and Lusko were assistant state attorneys in Pensacola. Both have been named Inweekly Rising Stars.
