American Magic Services Supports New America’s Cup Challenger

American Magic Services has confirmed that it will support American Racing Challenger Team USA, the official U.S. challenger for the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup.

The team will use the American Magic High Performance Center in Pensacola for race boat modifications and on-water testing. The relationship further strengthens the region’s position as a fast-growing, premier global hub for high-performance sailing, advanced manufacturing, and innovation.

“This is another strong step forward for American Magic Services,” said Tyson Lamond, Chief Executive Officer. “It is important to see an American team competing on the America’s Cup stage, and we are proud to support American Racing Challenger Team USA as they prepare for the 38th America’s Cup. This program brings additional activity to Pensacola and reflects the capability and momentum we are building at the American Magic High Performance Center as we continue to build our portfolio.”

As I reported this morning, American Racing Challenger Team USA, representing Sail Newport, has acquired key assets from American Magic, including the AC75 yacht Patriot and two AC40 platforms.

The team is the vision of entrepreneurs Karel Komárek and Chris Welch and will be led by Ken Read, two-time Rolex Yachtsman of the Year. The competition is set for spring and summer 2027 on the Bay of Naples, marking the first time the America’s Cup will be held in Italy.

Background: Based at the Port of Pensacola, American Magic Services specializes in high-performance engineering, systems design, and composite manufacturing. Initially established to meet the competitive demands of the America’s Cup, American Magic Services now provides innovative solutions for the marine, aerospace, and defense industries.

The American Magic High Performance Center is a new $20.8 million sailing, training, and technology hub at the Port of Pensacola that serves as American Magic’s headquarters and a North American training base for SailGP teams. It is designed both as an elite racing facility and as an economic development asset, bringing high?wage jobs, manufacturing, and tourism to Pensacola.

It’s in a redeveloped Warehouse 10 at the Port of Pensacola, which provides roughly 56,000–63,000 square feet of space for boats, repairs, gym, design, and manufacturing operations, functioning as American Magic’s long?term headquarters.

  • The center opened in early January 2026, after a multi?year effort between American Magic, the City of Pensacola, Triumph Gulf Coast, the State of Florida, and the Port.
