Mobile Press Register reports that NOAA has closed 4,200 miles of Gulf to trawling for royal red shrimp. Why? A shrimper found tar balls in his net Saturday. The royal red shrimp are normally were caught at a depth of 600 feet or more. NOAA said other shrimp species are not affected by the ban. Read more.
