The King’s Speech connection

Everything has a connection to Pensacola or Germany. Latest proof: The King’s Speech, Oscar-winning film about King George VI. In the movie, King Edward abdicates the throne to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson.

Wallis Simpson’s first marriage was to Win Simpson, a Naval aviator, who she met at Pensacola NAS while visiting her cousin Corinne Mustin. Yes, Simpson was the cousin of Henry Croskey Mustin (1874-1923) was one of the first nine Naval officers who established NAS Pensacola—Navy Air Pilot No. 3 and later Naval Aviator No. 11. Mustin later became commandant of the base.
