Scott okays SunRail funding

Herald Tribune reports that Gov. Rick Scott has reversed his position on the SunRail. In February, he refused to accept $2 billion in federal funding. Now the Florida taxpayers will be stuck with the bill.

What’s different from February? Scott’s popularity in I-4 corridor–Tampa to Orlando– has plummeted, which threatens the GOP’s success in the 2012 elections. The other factor is the Florida Chamber of Commerce has come out in favor of the project.
