Victor Steen case settled

Mayor Ashton Hayward has sent the following memo to the Pensacola City Council:

The City’s Police Liability Insurance Company has settled the claim of Cassandra Steen against the City and Officer Ard that arose out of the tragic accident leading to the death of Victor Steen on October 3, 2009. Since the City has already met the insurance policy deductible, the settlement amount will be funded by the insurance company. A cooperative spirit among the parties led to a satisfactory resolution of this claim.
