Gaetz serious about job creation

State Sen. Don Gaetz (R-Niceville) is serious about job creation and wants to hold accountable those corporations that got fat incentive checks for creating jobs. He wants the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity to release information about companies that owe taxpayers money for incentive-program jobs that never were created.

Last Friday, the department release information that showed that over the last 16 years that companies have been paid $145 million by the state to create jobs, but produced only about half the 65,000 jobs originally promised and a tiny fraction of the private-sector capital investment.
