Lock-n-Load Evers and Baby Gaetz get pushback on ethanol repeal

Carrying the “water” for Big Oil can be difficult. It’s definitely not as popular has shilling for the NRA. State Sen. Greg Evers and Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz want repeal the state’s ethanol fuel laws. Gaetz, a young superstar in the Florida House, got his version passed by the House committee.

Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam believes the bill sends the wrong message on renewable energy. He wishes the bill was packaged differently.

The St. Pete Times reports that Putnam told lawmakers, “If you’re saying we need to repeal this and modernize it, that’s absolutely right. We do need to repeal it and modernize it to give it the flexibility that reflects the rapidly advancing technologies in renewable fuels. That’s not really what’s being said though. What’s being said is we just need to repeal it.”
