A popular downtown bakery closes (Pitzmann Bakery to close its doors ) because it can’t find qualified bakers to help an ailing owner. Hate to see them close because of lack of local talent.
Two city councilman want to punish another popular restaurant in the Sanders Beach area (The Oar House now properly licensed ) because it is serving food and drinks on the right-of-way of a dead-end street – on a deck that it had permission to build. Thank goodness, the majority of the council wants to see business thrive in the city.
Good news: A new pizza/ale house is set to open next month on Palafox. A steady stream of interested parties are looking at the vacate spaces along Palafox. The Community Maritime Park is moving ahead.
