Mobile Council delays maritime museum

Mobile Press Register reports that amid questions about the total cost, the Mobile City Council on Tuesday delayed action on a $628,770 contract for the future GulfQuest Maritime museum. The council was set to vote on the contract with Ben M. Radcliff Contractor Inc. for utility and general site work for the museum, which is under construction on Water Street next to the old cruise terminal. Mobile has spent almost $24.7 million so far toward the $39 million museum. That is about $4 million more than originally projected. Read more.
