How about being proactive?

The thought struck me this morning – Why didn’t Escambia County government have a plan to help out local cultural groups while the Saenger Theater is being renovated? Shouldn’t there have been a plan to help these groups – Pensacola Symphony, Pensacola Opera, Pensacola Children’s Chorus, etc.?

In Gulf Breeze, when Gulf Breeze High School was damaged by Hurricane Ivan – the GB City Council made the Rec Center available for basketball and volleyball practices and games at no charge. We worked with the schools to help.

I realize the Civic Center is a bigger operation, but the BOCC should have had a plan to help.
