Press Release: Great Place to Work named Studer Group as one of the best small and medium workplaces in the United States on their annual 2012 Best Small & Medium Workplaces list, published today in FORTUNE magazine. Ranked #4, the list recognizes companies that have exceptional workplace cultures. Now in its ninth year, the competition is divided into two categories, Small (50-250 employees) and Medium (251-999 employees).
Studer Group was selected among hundreds of companies vying for a place on the list this year. Applicant companies opt to participate in the selection process, which includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. Great Place to Work® then evaluates each application using its unique methodology based on five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
Creators of the list, Great Place to Work® has found that employees believe they work for great organizations when they consistently trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with.
“At Studer Group, we strive every day to practice what we teach and to role model our standards and values, not only with our team, but with our clients and our community as well,†said BG Porter, Studer Group Chief Executive Officer. “This brings authenticity to our work and connects each of us personally to our mission – to make healthcare a better place for employees to work, for physicians to practice medicine and for patients to receive care.â€
The same principles that Studer Group teaches their partners are also hardwired in their own organization. Leaders send handwritten thank-you notes to employees’ homes and to show a commitment to transparency, all staff has access to 90-day performance plans for the entire organization. Studer Group employees receive benefits such as six-to-eight weeks of paid maternity leave and one week of paid paternity leave for new parents, a $75 gift card on their birthday (and $25 in cash for employees children on their birthday), four weeks of paid vacation time annually and much more.
Studer Group® works with over 850 healthcare organizations in the U.S. and beyond, teaching them how to achieve, sustain, and accelerate exceptional clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. They help bring structure and focus to organizations through the creation of cultures of accountability. It’s this commitment to helping organizations accelerate their ability to execute that led to Studer Group receiving the 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
“The Best Small & Medium Workplace list grows more competitive every year and this list represents the best of the best,†said Susan Lucas-Conwell, Global Chief Executive Officer of Great Place to Work®. “While each company is unique, what they have in common are strong cultures that support positive workplaces.â€
Organizations named on the list see many benefits that include better financial performance, less employee turnover, higher levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty, more innovative and creative thinking, higher productivity and enhanced public perception.
