Serve on the Community Investment Committee and help choose the programs that receive your donations through United Way of Escambia County’s funds distribution process!
Through United Way of Escambia County’s funds distribution process, United Way donors come together to make recommendations on how undesignated donations should be invested in non-profit programs that serve in our community.
As a member of the Community Investment Committee you:
Are critical to ensuring that contributions from thousands of donors are spent in the most effective way possible.
Evaluate each program requesting funding, tour the program site, and listen to oral presentations where you have the opportunity to learn how the organizations operate and how funds are used.
Volunteer an estimated 30-35 hours over eight weeks (March through May).
Are a donor! Anyone who has made a gift to United Way of Escambia County can help decide where funding is invested for the most community impact. If you are not a current donor, you can make a donation today by visiting unitedwayescambia.org.
If you’re interested in participating, please attend one of the Community Investment Committee Kickoff Meetings on February 25 from 2pm-3pm or February 26 from 10am-11am in the Hagler/Mason Meeting Room in Pensacola City Hall.
Last year, United Way of Escambia County volunteers serving through the funds distribution process allocated $910,000 to 44 programs at 33 agencies in our community.
