Lock and Load, baby

The U.S. Supreme Court has reaffirmed the Second Amendment and by a 5-4 vote struck down a District if Columbia law that banned handguns (AP WIRE).

The Second Amendment is something the U.S. Supreme Court has danced around for decades. It’s very clear: “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

I am not a big gun rights person, but the basic premises of this amendment is that the citizens should have the right to protect themselves and be able to rise up against tyranny. Does there need to be some regulation? Yes. For instance, we don’t want kids carrying guns into schools.

However, denial of gun ownership by adults is unconstitutional.
