9/11 Anniversary

Hard to believe it was seven years ago that terrorists forced three airplanes to crash into the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington. A four plane crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pa. after the passengers battled with the hijackers. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in all.

Where were you when you learned of the crash? Did you watch it on TV?

We were in old offices on Cervantes by Jerry’s Drive In. I turned on the TV as soon as we heard of the first World Trade Center crash, saw the second plane hit it and then watched in horror as the Towers fell. We were all numb, not wanting to believe what we saw.

The days after were filled with mourning and patriotism, but that day was a nightmare.
