This summer, Matthew Thomas Ritenour won a Northern California Region Emmy Award for his directorial debut on the film “Impact of the Frolic.”
Working with fellow Chico State graduate Arik Bord, the documentary tells the story of the 1850 shipwreck of ‘The Frolic” and its impact on the Mitom Pomo Indians. Ritenour directed, Bord was the director of photography.
Matt was born in Pensacola Florida and attended Cordova Park Elementary School, Workman Middle School, Washington and Gulf Breeze High Schools, graduating from Gulf Breeze in 2008.
The film has been picked up for national distribution on PBS.
