Morgan sworn in

David Morgan is now officially the sheriff of Escambia County. He received his commission from Gov. Charlie Crist, via Chief Deputy Clerk of Courts Lisa Bernau, and was sworn in by Chief Judge Kim A. Skievaski before a standing room only crowd in the Escambia County Commission chambers.

Morgan told the citizens, public officials and law enforcement officers in attendance that he will lead the ECSO department and will return the department to being a service organization.

“I will never dishonor this office either by acts of omission or commission,” Morgan said in his remarks to the audience.
