Van Camp wants back pay

handcuffs We called around and found a copy of the letter Deputy Sheriff Jeff Van Camp sent to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. We would have put a public record request in to the ECSO but it’d be 2008 before the ECSO would release the letter.

Van Camp filed a grievance notice not over being passed over for sergeant, as earlier rumored, but for back pay as a supervisor. Van Camp is no longer a part of Crime Stoppers. He is driving a 1999 Crown Vic cruiser on the midnight shift in Ensley.

It probably doesn’t help Van Camp’s relationship with Sheriff McNesby that he used Arety Siever’s attorney, Eric Stevenson, to file the grievance. Van Camp will be eligible for retirement in four years. Looks like they won’t be easy ones.
