McLaughlin did save money

We asked Patty Sheldon , administrator for Financial Services for Escambia County Clerk of Court and Comptroller, to compare the county’s payroll for the first quarter of this fiscal year (Oct-Dec 2008) with last year’s first quarter to see if Escambia County did save money by offering it’s senior leaders early retirement.

The spreadsheet shows that there has been a savings – $703,925.73 for the quarter, which projects out to be $2.8 million for the year. This means the savings paid for the cost of the early retirement incentive package in one year.
