Rubio picks up conservative endorsement

Miami Herald is reporting that South Florida conservatives aren’t happy Gov. Charlie Crist being described as ”GOP’s Barack Obama” and “the man who might be the answer to the GOP’s problems.” The GOP right wing wants someone more conservative to replace Bob Martinez in the U.S. Senate. That someone is former House speaker Marco Rubio.

Rubio has picked up the endorsement of U.S. Sen. James DeMint of South Carolina, “one of the most conservative members of Congress.” He also won a straw poll of the Pasco County GOP.
