Century public record problem

It’s now officially an epidemic. The Florida Sunshine Law problems have spread even to Century. NorthEscambia.com reports that Councilman Henry Hawkins requested town records related to the now defunct Helicopter Technology and other town financial business last December. In August 2008, the IN sued the Santa Rosa Island Authority Board for records concerning its attorney’s “double-secret” investigation of Buck Lee. The board eventually relinquished the records and paid our attorney’s fees. Santa Rosa County and TEAM Santa Rosa have been hit with a series of complaints that appear to be very valid. Escambia County Commissioner Gene Valentino recently pleaded not contest to a $500 fine for not releasing his e-mails in a timely fashion.
