The City of Pensacola and Mayor Grover C. Robinson, IV will host a recognition for Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Monday, Oct. 10 at 9 a.m. on the front steps of City Hall, located at 222 W. Main St.
Mayor Robinson will be joined by representatives from the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and Santa Rosa Band of the Lower Muscogee to recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day, declared by Pensacola City Council to be observed on the second Monday in October in the City of Pensacola.
In honor of the holiday, the City of Pensacola will fly flags from several historically recognized Southeast tribes in front of City Hall on Monday, Oct. 10.
Indigenous Peoples’ Day honors the nation’s indigenous roots, history, traditions and cultural contributions. City Council declared Indigenous Peoples’ Day in the City of Pensacola to celebrate and honor indigenous peoples and their shared history and culture in Pensacola and Northwest Florida.
