I got up early this morning and listened to Fox News while I was making coffee. The news anchor signed off his broadcast with, “This is Fox New–fair, balanced and unafraid.” It really struck me as odd. What national news network is truly afraid? What good journalist lets fear impact his/her reporting? Fox News is extremely powerful and is owned by Rupert Murdoch. What can they be afraid of?
The Fox News anchor is sitting in a cushy studio, probably making six figures. He reads news reports and doesn’t have to face anybody on which he is reporting. What is there for him to fear?
I’ve got to stop watching Fox News.
