Florida State Rep. Michelle Salzman, R-Cantonment, traveled to Roland, Iowa to campaign for Gov. Ron DeSantis at Roland-Story Middle School.
She posted on X:
“I showed up an hour early and shook almost every single hand..
Introduced myself to everyone I could. I wanted to look each of them in the eye and tell them how great @RonDeSantis is.I flipped many votes ~ even got one guy in a Trump hat to switch AND wear a DeSantis sticker…
I love this country with every ounce of my being and will do this 1,000,000 times in subzero weather if it means we save our country.
God bless #Iowa and God bless #america”
Roland is in Story County. The caucus results for the county:
Donald Trump: 1,184 votes
Nikki Haley: 1,045
DeSantis: 923
Oh well…..
Note to Michelle: no self respecting Iowan wears giants fuzzy ear muffs in the middle of a dangerous blizzard. January in Iowa is not generally viewed as an opportunity to accessorize.
Of course, I barely recognize the state any more, so there’s that. They’ve stooped to Trump, racist Christian Nationalism, and destroying the best public education system in the country, so for all I know Boebert-Couture is all the rage there on caucus night now.
Sadly, if the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that there’s always a new depth to sink to.
