Buzz: Lewis to file against Hall

Although nothing has been posted on the Supervisor of Elections website, Christopher J. Lewis is rumored to be running against Councilman Sam Hall for the at-large council seat to be vacated by Diane Mack. Hall currently holds the District 2 seat to which he was first elected in 2006. Lewis ran unsuccessfully for Pensacola mayor in 2008 and served on the Escambia County Consolidation Study Commission.

A Hall vs. Lewis race could be very, very interesting. In 2006, Hall ran as the City Hall outsider, but raised considerable funds from some of those considered part of the mythical “Downtown Crowd” in 2008.

Lewis is a City Hall outsider, who has stayed well versed on city issues. A debate between Hall and Lewis will rival the Touart-Valentino debate for fireworks and entertainment value.
