Pensacola Youth Ballet’s 2025 Legacy Awards

Pensacola Youth Ballet is proud to announce the Legacy Awards, a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable women who laid the foundation for dance in our community. These extraordinary matriarchs were more than instructors – they were visionaries who transformed Pensacola’s artistic landscape, opening doors for generations of dancers to follow.

The Legacy Awards represent more than just scholarships; they are a profound celebration of the women who dedicated their lives to nurturing artistic talent. By establishing scholarships in their names, we ensure that their passion, dedication, and pioneering spirit continue to inspire young dancers.

Each $1,500 Legacy Award Ballet Scholarship will be presented to dance schools that have chosen to participate in our Community Nutcracker production:

  • Perdido Performing Arts: Dorothy Lister Legacy Award

  • 5 Star Dance Centre: Patsy Graydon Hill Legacy Award

  • LaBelle Performing Arts: Elvie Demarco Legacy Award

  • Gulf Coast Elite Gymnastics: Gioia Michelotti Legacy Award

These scholarships, funded through the ticket revenue of Pensacola Youth Ballet’s Community Nutcracker, ensure that the dreams of these pioneering women continue to flourish in the hearts and movements of Pensacola’s young dancers. By participating in our Community Nutcracker, dance schools have the opportunity to receive these prestigious awards, fostering a spirit of collaboration and excellence in our local dance community.
