NAVARRE: Dune Doctors, the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center (FCOLC) and the Navarre Beach Marine Science Center (NBMSS) will host A Day for the Dunes to promote the importance of coastal ecosystems.
This family-friendly educational event is designed with the purpose of inspiring both children and adults to take an active part as ambassadors for our environment. The event will consist of a beach cleanup, Planting for Protection, and educational activities.
Special guest appearance expected by FCOLC founder and world-renowned ocean explorer Fabien Cousteau. Sea oats planting, Planting for Protection, is limited to the first 100 families to register. About FCOLC
The Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center was founded in 2016 as a 501(c)(3) by world-renowned oceanographic explorer, conservationist and documentary filmmaker Fabien Cousteau to fulfill his dream of creating a vehicle for positive change in the world. The FCOLC focuses on Public Awareness (SEE), Education (LEARN) and Special Projects (DO). Some of these activities and initiatives include: coral reef restoration programs, sea turtle restoration programs, and educational resources that can be used for elementary grades to the university level, and museum programming. These components allow us to empower communities and children to help restore local water ecosystems through the healthy “replanting†of key marine species and empower future stewards of ocean conservation. The mission of the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station is to promote the appreciation, conservation, and understanding of the marine ecosystem of coastal Florida through education and service.
