AAF Pensacola supports art programs in local schools

Press Release: The American Advertising Federation (AAF) Pensacola Chapter announces its new fundraiser – AdArt. AdArt supports art programs in local schools while promoting a variety of local artists and raising funds to support the local advertising industry.

AAF Pensacola has teamed up with Bobe’s Hobby House to provide FREE 16×20 canvases to local artists who wish to participate in this fundraising event. Submitted artwork will be on display in the lobby of the Saenger Theater during Gallery Night on Friday, Nov. 16. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening and the highest bidders will take home their prized pieces.

To participate, email AAF Pensacola at aafpensacola@gmail.com and receive a receipt for your free 16×20 canvas at Bobe’s Hobby House on North W Street. Further instructions will be included with the canvas which must be returned no later than Nov. 9.

Twenty percent of AdArt proceeds will be placed in an account at Bobe’s Hobby House for teachers from Escambia and Santa Rosa County schools to use for art supplies, while the remaining funds will go toward AAF Pensacola educations programs, scholarships, public service campaigns and continued support of the local advertising industry to build the economy.

“Bobe’s is excited to be a part of this event benefiting the Advertising Federation and supporting art programs in our local schools,” stated Mike Bobe, owner of Bobe’s Hobby House.

Superintendents in both Escambia and Santa Rosa counties are working with AAF Pensacola to ensure the teachers are aware of the program and how to access the funds for art supplies following the event. “Studies have shown that art is often an outlet for the development of multiple talents and provides students with other ways to express themselves and learn,” said Malcolm Thomas, Escambia County School Superintendent. “I also believe that for some children, it is what they look forward to at school, and serves as additional motivation. I’ve always been a big supporter of art in our schools and am thankful for AAF Pensacola’s support through this project.”

AAF Pensacola is a local extension of the American Advertising Federation, which serves as the unifying voice in the advertising industry. The American Advertising Federation is different from any other organization because it has a three-level, multi-dimensional network of professionals that represent all disciplines of advertising. AAF’s goal is to educate advertising professionals and students, monitor legislative issues, recognize excellence, drive traffic to all businesses, and help build the economy.

AAF Pensacola has served its community for more than 40 years and continues to do so through local events, educational scholarships and public service campaigns.
