Airbnb Community Fund Donates $40K to Pensacola Habitat

Airbnb announced a $40,000 donation to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity through the Airbnb Community Fund yesterday, supporting the organization’s work to ensure everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home.

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity was selected for this donation by Airbnb Pensacola Volunteer Community Leader Clara Reeves. The donation was celebrated during a volunteer build day organized by Pensacola Habitat for Humanity and the Airbnb Pensacola Host Club.

“Being involved with Pensacola Habitat for Humanity has given me a greater sense of connection to my community,” said Airbnb Pensacola Volunteer Community Leader Clara Reeves. “I was proud to nominate Pensacola Habitat for Humanity for this award, and our work reminds me that every small act – whether it’s organizing donations or lending a hand with a hammer – is about building hope, dignity, and lasting community connections.”

“This generous donation from Airbnb will strengthen our ability to create and preserve affordable homeownership opportunities in the Pensacola area while expanding the support we provide to homebuyers throughout their journey,” said Pensacola Habitat for Humanity President and CEO Sam Young. “By removing financial barriers and investing in families’ long-term success, we are building lasting stability and a stronger community for generations to come.”

The donation was made through the Airbnb Community Fund, a $100 million initiative launched in 2020, to support communities where Airbnb operates – the cities and neighborhoods our hosts call home.

Since the Community Fund launched in 2020, Airbnb has donated more than $585,000 to organizations throughout Florida supporting causes important to communities across the state, including organizations focused on economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and ending abuse and exploitation – three issues identified by the Airbnb Host Advisory Board as important to the global host community. With this donation, Airbnb has given over $250,000 to Habitat for Humanity organizations in Florida since 2023.
